I love sharing my home’s style with you! Today I’m sharing all about how I decorated my family’s living spaces in European style for Spring.
If you’re new to the journal, you might have missed my other Spring decorating posts for this year, you can catch up on those here:
And now, on to the main living spaces in our home! The two most used rooms in our house are the living room and fireside room. Let’s get started!

The first thing I do before starting any seasonal decorating is to remove the last season’s items and return them to my seasonal decorating organizational bins, and then I pull out the pieces I’d like to incorporate for the new season.
This year I was aiming for a vintage European style for spring.
For our living room coffee table, I wanted it to feel a bit like a greenhouse – though filled with faux plants! A trick I love to use is to add moss to cover the top of your faux plant planter – it helps it to feel more authentic!
If you love the look of faux topiaries – I have two tutorials you might enjoy:
The beautiful candle in the glass dish was a $2 thrift store find, though the candle was originally $20 from the McGee & Threshold line!
Many of the standard details of this room lend very well to the style I was going for, but I added in elements like this green paisley pillow cover.
I get asked about the drapes in our living room all the time – they’re custom, from the company called 2 Pages! I highly recommend them for upscale drapes at a great price! Use my link and coupon code SHEHOLDSDEARLY for 15% off your order!
On top of the piano, which I like to decorate as if it were a mantle in our living room, I added my collection of birds nests & glass cloches on top of a asymmetrical runner made with bleached ferns.
I love that natural elements like these can help a design feel a bit more light academia style, which is one I’ve been influenced by in the past few years, especially in this room!
I believe the bird in the print on the piano is a chickadee, which is the nickname my dad used for me when I was younger.
In our window I added a framed faux oil painting of one of my favorite spring prints. The sheep always remind me of Easter and the Lord as our shepherd.
I loved this print so much that I included it in this year’s Spring Decor Box!
If you love the idea of getting a seasonal box filled with specially curated pieces of my favorite seasonal elements, you’ll want to make sure you’re on the waitlist to be the first to know when each seasonal box is being released!
The next room I worked on is our Fireside Room. I’ve shared a lot about this room before and how it’s kind of the high-traffic hub and glorified hallway connecting all the parts of our house.
Since we spend so much time in here, I love making sure there are at least a few elements for each season.
In the small shelf on the backside of our kitchen counters, I often use my white soup tureens as the foundational base, and then add elements for the seasons. For this Spring, I chose a selection of books in blue and green, and some of my green transferware.
On our green velvet couch, I added an assortment of lumbar pillows in different sizes and each with different blue patterns.
If you’re wondering about the wallpaper in this room, it’s called Alma by Wallpaper Direct. We installed it a few years ago and I still love it so much!
I like to style my collection of natural shopping bags on this set of hooks, as well as some of our dog care items.
Last year, I shared my sweet vintage Spring Flash cards – and someone recommended I stick one in the upward facing bristles of our antique dog brushes. I tried it, and it is so sweet! Such a great idea.
If you’d like to get your own free, printable set of Spring flash cards – you can get a copy here:
I found this bird print online for free, and I used a thrifted wooden pants hanger to display it!
On the other side of the room, I added another thrifted bird print – this one was gifted to me by my friend, Bridgette.
Further down along the stair railing knobs, I added in a few elements that remind me of spring cleaning. I’m a big proponent of having as many items in our homes be both functional, and beautiful – and cleaning supplies are no exception! I’ve shared previously my favorite ways to make your cleaning supplies double as decor.
And that’s the last of my spring decor for this year – I hope you’ve enjoyed it and feel inspired in your own spring decorating!
