Our bedroom is decorated for Spring – this year, in a beautiful European style! Come and see all the details.
I don’t always decorate the entire room in our bedroom, but I do typically like to focus on a few key spots:

When I started my decorating, I didn’t actually know exactly what I was going to do in each space I mentioned above. What works for me, and my encouragement to you is to start anyway! Begin with the things you DO know, and the rest will usually start to fall in place as you see the elements you love finding their spot.
Years ago we added this electric fireplace in our bedroom and I’m so glad we did!
It makes for such a cozy feel in the room in the winter and early spring, and it gives the room a great focal point for decorating.
This year I used my hymnal page runner again! I recently made DIY kits of this exact project and included them in my Spring Decor Boxes! They have since sold out, but if you would like to hear once the Summer Decor Boxes launch – make sure you’re on the waitlist HERE.
I first made a book page runner for my daughter’s Pride & Prejudice Birthday party, and then used the idea again at my Mother’s funeral.
Supplies:
Lay the majority of the pages flat along your mantle, piano or table; alternating the orientations and creating a runner as wide as your space calls for. I shoot for about 3 pages wide on my mantle.
For the pages laying flat, I do not secure them down at all – if you were wanting to do this outside or near a breezy window, you would want to discreetly add some additional tape along this section.
Once you reach the end, use the scotch tape or hot glue to attach the pages to each other to create the “waterfall” effect with the pages cascading down over the sides of the mantle. (This is my favorite part!)
Along with the hymnal page runner, I added two sweet round baskets with faux plants, and my DIY canvas transfer artwork.
I found the canvas at the Goodwill Bins and the IOD transfer is from my Bespoke Design Retreat last year! I was so thankful to have IOD included as one of our sponsors.
I chose the “Forget Me Not” transfer from their “Lover of Flowers” assortment because I loved the shades of blue for this Spring’s European style bedroom.
I glued my favorite “gimp” trim around the edge of the canvas for a more finished look.
Next, I added in some new elements to our nightstands.
On my husband’s side, I added in a beautifully realistic faux orchid I had found while thrifting, and a robin’s egg blue linen book for a pop of color.
On my side, I swapped out the art print for this sweet print of a collection of bird’s eggs that I got from IKEA years ago. I like to use thrifted pants hangers to hang art-prints on the wall.
I also added in a gilded gold watering can, and left the sweet sheep – since he’s so fitting for spring & Easter.
I grabbed my husband’s water carafe with a little bit of water remaining in the bottom and re-purposed it as a spring vase for my faux hydrangea!
If you didn’t already know, you can fold most faux-flower stems to avoid cutting them short – that way if you ever do want them long again, you still have the option!
Next to the vase of flowers, I added some pictures of my Mom as a little girl, and a little golden alarm clock.
On the small wall behind my rocking chair, I added in a few sweet spring pieces that otherwise might not have had a place to be displayed.

The bleached white fern was another piece that was included in my Spring Seasonal Collection!
I love using basics on my bed and because I’m so happy with how they look, I didn’t have much to change out this season, but I did want to swap in some more European and spring elements. I swapped out my beloved wool blanket from Brookelinen for a beautiful golden velvet quilt I found on Facebook Marketplace.
The shade of gold is the exact same one I used on the large floral lumbar I made last year!
I used my “Into the Woods” decorator fabric by Kaufmann for the front, and as a value tip – used the plain gold as the backing on the reverse side!
I hope you’ve enjoyed this look around our European spring bedroom and feel inspired for your own space!
Until next time,
