There’s just something so sweet about a bedroom decorated for Christmas! This year our bedroom is decorated in Victorian Christmas style and I can’t wait to share the details with you.
I kept some pieces the same as last year, but other aspects took a whole other direction – which is a fun thing to experience when you’re in the middle of a design, especially within your own home!

I get asked all the time about our black iron bed – and we still love it! The only thing I always tell people as I’m recommending it is that if you like to sit up in bed for reading, you’ll want to make sure you have good size pillows to place behind you! The headboard isn’t very forgiving on your back, otherwise!
I kept the base layer of our bed neutral and bright white for this year with my stacked dust ruffle, white sheets, and a duvet with very subtle lines.
For this year I decided to let the pillows be the star of the show.
I had thrifted this thick, beautiful vintage red fabric and had originally made just 2 pillows from it.
I loved them so much that I took them apart, and re-assembled them with a different backing so that I could use the beautiful red for 4 pillows, instead!
The plaid lumbar tops it all off, and adds in a bit of green which I continued to repeat around the room.
At the foot of the bed I added in a grey throw, which complements the silver accents, nicely!
I love this mercury glass ornament garland (similar here and here) and learned my lesson quickly that it needs to be TIED onto the bed, and not secured with tape. The night after I decorated we were woken up to a terrible loud crash as the whole garland fell to the floor while we slept. It was quite a shock and four of the ornaments shattered.
Needless to say, it’s now tied securely, and I’m still check in on it often to make sure it’s still holding on well.
We use our nightstands functionally for phones and glasses, so I like to keep them simple and not too cluttered with decor.
For my nightstand, I placed a tiny tinsel tree in a little champagne bucket, and then added in a little sheep as a reminder of Christ’s arrival as the Lamb of God and our Shepherd.
I kept the books on this side more neutral in color.
Oh my husband’s side I placed a tiny little statue of St. Nicholas and an antler on top of some books.
My husband loves having water to drink after bedtime, and the best solution we found to keeping it readily available is this charming water carafe with a cup!
I’ve always loved that because this room is actually two old rooms combined, it’s given us so much more space to include a fireplace and seating area.
Since the first year I tried putting a Christmas tree here in our room, I’ve never looked back. It is so cozy and sweet. If you have the space to do so in your bedroom – go for it!
I used the largest of our tinsel trees in this corner this year, and placed my thrifted wicker rocker in front.
I decorated the tree with gold ornaments and my sweet ballet dancer garland that I made last year during Handmade Holidays.
Under the tree I have everything wrapped in matching Martha Stewart green toile wrapping paper with red velvet ribbons and simple gift tags.
I share more about my wrapping process & how I like to simplify Christmas HERE.
Along the edge of my rocker I have a set of real vintage sleigh bells. I love hearing them twinkle as we rock in this chair!
On the mantle I have our simple off-white stockings hung.
And more red & green books with a vintage alarm clock placed on top.
Along the top, a selection of books in reds & greens and my print of “The Christmas Ball” in a glass reese frame.
I love keeping my Mom’s wedding dress on this dress form as a reminder of her, and for Christmas I just added a simple “Fa-la-la” garland draped around the neck.
On my green faux card catalog, I have a small tinsel tree in a champagne bucket, and a sweet red church dusted with snow.
Vintage postcards are hung carefully on the bulletin board behind.
And that’s this year’s Victorian Christmas Bedroom Tour! I hope you enjoyed it!
