If you got a chance to tour Tanya’s Modern 1800’s Cottage already you will enjoy her summer garden tour, as well. If not, you can tour her home here- part one and part two.
Tanya has a background in landscaping and has worked in greenhouses in her younger days. With her lakeside property just shy of an acre, you can imagine what she has been able to do with it!
In the video below, you will get to meet their family rabbit, Woodruff and
walk through her fenced in vegetable garden with it’s raised beds. And, no, Woodruff is normally not allowed in there. I wanted to shoot some video of him in there and he was pretty happy with my request!
Notice how Tanya uses a vintage locker bin in one of the beds! So creative.
After that, I will take you through her darling green house the sits just in front of the garden.
And tour the backyard with its view of the lake, a secret tree house (shh!) and inviting patio!
The family kayaks in the lake and Tanya burns citronella candles for evening chess games on the picnic table.
A giant Korean dogwood is planted near the lake.

You can see how much of Tanya’s heart goes into her home and yard. It really is an extension of herself and the love she feels for her family. This is such a clear example of the convictions behind She Holds Dearly and why each of us continues to try to emphasize the beauty in life and the world today.

Beautiful comfortable home. I really loved the tour. The garden tour was really inspiring. I hope I’m around after they empty nest to see how she converts her children’s rooms. Great job Sarah in the story line and tour!

I’m glad you enjoyed it, Brenda!
Such a beautiful home. We are sisters at heart. We have a lot of the same vintage things, and it’s cool to see how someone else displays them. A whole new inspiration.
