Brazilian Hammock Summer Oasis

Are you familiar with what a Brazilian hammock is?

Wanna know a little secret?

Of course, you do!

I have always (exaggeration used for dramatic effect) wanted a Brazilian hammock!

Macrame Trim Summer Hammock by

Not a regular hammock, that has the wooden slats on either end, a Brazilian one. One that is tied up in a point on either end. OH, and it has to have macrame trim. Just saying.

Hello, can we say “Out of Africa”?  That macrame trim has my Victorian loving heart!

I have thought about how to make one for years now, but in the end, I just couldn’t justify the time.  I found one I love for under $60 on Amazon and will link a collection of some others that caught my eye, as well.

I don’t even know what I was waiting for, napping in a hammock is completely dreamy.

Even if fall is starting to make an appearance, this is a fun idea to sneak in a little summer oasis. And, actually, fall is the BEST time to purchase a hammock because of all the end of the season sales.

Just take a Brazilian hammock, throw in some pillows and add one more touch to make the space unique and you have a gorgeous summer oasis.

Yarn Tassels by

I made these giant yarn tassels from my friend, Kristin’s, blog post.  They were super easy and bring in so much interest, I will definitely be making them again.

Sarah, now this is the stuff long, lingering afternoon naps are made of! What a dreamy little spot!
I’ve always wanted one of these too! I used to swoon over them anytime I saw one in Victoria Magazine.
I will definitely be adding one to our back yard one day soon too.

Girl, I used to LOVE Victoria magazine. Great minds think alike. I hope you get your hammock up real soon. xoxo

Sarah, yes, it is very common to have one or several networks in our homes, I am from Brazil. I live in the south of the country and here we use to rest in the middle of the morning or afternoon and at the end of the day and at night we sleep in normal beds, but the people who live in the north of the country, besides using to rest they sleep during the evening in it and babies at birth are already used to sleeping in hammocks. Brazilians like the hammock so much that they invented a chair inspired by it, I bought one here at home and now with 3 more hammocks there is no discussion, there is room for everyone. Beautiful your post. Thank you for mentioning my dear Brazil.
