Over the past year I have had the pleasure of bringing the Ilve Stove of my dreams out from the pages of my Pinterest inspiration and right into my newly remodeled kitchen!

We purchased our home and did a full remodel over 15 years ago, and while the kitchen was, at the time, straight out of my design binder – as the years went on, I knew my heart had new desires for this space.

So I built my new inspiration pictures using Pinterest (instead of my earlier version with cut-out pictures from magazines) and we began to plan. We swapped out the countertops for something more classic and elegant, added beadboard on all of the walls, painted the cabinets & the walls in “French Gray” by Farrow & Ball…

And purchased my DREAM Ilve Stove.

The Custom Range I’d Dreamt Of

Once I knew we were going to get an Ilve, I I went through the options & customizations and was so impressed at the many different ways you can customize your stove.

Their website has a great interactive “builder” that you can see real-time updates as you select the different customization options.

There currently have five different stove styles/series. We went with the Nostalgie II, in 30″ width to fit our current kitchen cabinetry configuration. They offer sizes up to 60″ – depending on your needs!

My favorite style of range is to have a duel fuel gas stove, with an electric oven – and that is just one of the many options Ilve offers! We did need to get a specific plug to convert to our United States outlet – but we were able to find it easily at our local hardware store.

They have beautiful basic color choices, and even options to customize to specific colors, depending on your exact needs using RAL – a German system which is similar to what we would think of in the US as “Hex codes” or Pantone for choosing specific colors.

I went with the classic black for a timeless longevity.

The hardware can be customized in either brass, burnished, chrome, copper or satin.

We chose our customization, ordered our stove, and I was anticipating that I would be pleased when the stove arrived – but even my high expectations were outdone.

It’s said often that Ilve stoves are the most beautiful stoves in the world and I have to agree!

The goal was that the stove would be one of the big focal points in the kitchen, and the crowing glory of the room that we’d decorate around. That is exactly how it turned out and I’m so pleased.

It looks classic and charming, functions beautifully, and finishes off our space exactly how I pictured it.

I was also pleasantly surprised about the number of options to choose from during cooking.
